Westside is a clinic that is part of the Social Welfare Board and is located in Patee Hall at 904 S.10th , St. Joseph, MO. (816-344-5233) The Westside Clinic serves teenagers through people 64 years of age regardless of income or residency. The costs depends on a person’s income, known as a sliding fee. If a person makes under $13,000 annually there is no fee. Appointments are preferred, walk-ins welcomed. For women 35-64 another program is
available to provide free early cancer detection screenings.

Westside offers the following services:
Pap smear or HPV test – screening for cervical cancer or Human papillomavirus
- Screenings should start this screening at 21 years old.
- Guidelines vary according to results and age.

Clinic Breast exams – an exam done by the provider to check and feel for lumps or other changes.

Mammograms – an x-ray image of the breast used to screen for breast cancer.
- Women who are ages 40-49 should talk with their doctor about when to start the screening.
- Tell your doctor if you have a family history of breast cancer or believe you are at risk of breast cancer even if you are less than 40.

Birth control – most forms of birth control are available.

Sexually transmitted diseases (STD) education, screening and treatment – chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis, etc.

HIV screening - HIV is a virus that attacks the human immune system. There is no cure for HIV. Unlike some other viruses, such as the common cold, HIV cannot be cleared from the body. However, there are treatments available.
